    D)  If an organ is used constantly it will continuously increase its size

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

According to Darwin, living beings have an innate desire of producing their own progeny for the continuty of race. It has been observed that more individuals of each kind are produced than could possibly survive. It is difficult to find out any of the two individuals alike. Even the progeny of the same parents are not exactly alike in all respects. These differences are known as variations. Without variations changes could not occur and there will be no possibility of evolution to occur. Variations may be harmful or useful. The individuals possessing useful variations will be more successful in the struggle for existence. During the struggle for existence the individuals exhibiting variations which are more beneficial in facing hardships and rigours of environment, survive. By this he gave the concept of survival of the fittest.
