    D)  hypnotoxin

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Nematocysts are cell organelles found in specialized cells called cnidocytes or cnidoblasts of Hydra. Nematocyst consists of a tiny bulb or capsule and composed of a material similar to chitin. It is filled with a poisonous fluid or hypnotoxin, which is chemically a mixture of proteins and phenols. Hematin is a red pigment formed by the breakdown of haemoglobin during erythrocytic cycle of Plasmodium. Venom or poison of snake is secreted by certain poison glands found in the head of snakes. It is clear sticky liquid of faint yellow or greenish colour. It is tasteless and odourless and acidic in reaction. Venom is complex mixture of enzymes and specific toxins and is a good digestive juice.
