  • question_answer
The flow of liquid is laminar or stream line is determined by:

    A)  rate of flow of liquid

    B)         density of fluid

    C)         radius of the tube

    D)         coefficient of viscosity of liquid

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

The streamline flow of a liquid is the flow in which each element of the liquid passing through a point travels along the same path and with the same velocity as the preceeding element passing through the same point.  Hence, it is a regular flow. The path followed by each elements is called streamline. For laminar or streamline flow mass of the liquid entering the tube per second is equal to the mass of the liquid leaving the tube per second. Hence, the flow of liquid is laminar or streamline is determined by rate of flow of liquid.
