    Solution :

    The relation between distance of successive nodes and wavelength of the wave is \[s=85=\frac{(n-1)\lambda }{2}=\frac{(6-1)\lambda }{2}=\frac{5\lambda }{2}\] \[\Rightarrow \]               \[\lambda =\frac{85\times 2}{5}=34\,cm=0.34\,m\] Speed of sound \[v=f\lambda ,\]where\[f\]is frequency and \[\lambda \]is wavelength. \[v=1000\times 0.34\,=340\,m/s\]
