    A)  diffuse source

    B)  non-point source

    C)  point source

    D)  all of these.

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

: There are two types of sources of water pollution-point sources and nonpoint sources. Point Sources - These are the sources of water pollution which are fixed at a place and have a specific location for discharging pollutants into a particular water body. These are factories, power plants, underground coal mines and oil wells situated close to the water sources. The point sources of water pollution discharge their pollutants directly into the water source. (ii) Non-point Sources - These are the sources of water pollution which are scattered and do not have any specific location for discharging pollutants into a particular water body. These are run-offs from fields, lawns and gardens, many small drains, rain water from roads and streets and dirty water from the different construction sites.
