It also increases calcium excretion in the urine. Glucocorticoid is active in protecting against stress and in affecting protein and carbohydrate metabolism. Glucagon is a polypeptide hormone that has the property of increasing the concentration of glucose in the blood. It is secreted from the a cells of pancreas. Mineralocorticoid is secreted from adrenal cortex and is involved in regulation of fluid and electrolytes.
