    The average life span of human RBCs is 120   days.   The   aged   RBCs   attract auto antibodies after which they are attached by macrophages in liver and spleen. Spleen is also called as graveyard of RBCs. The process of destruction of RBCs is called haemolysis. About 2.5 million RBCs destroyed every second in body.
