Human skeleton is a framework of bones which gives shape to our body. It consists of many parts like, skull, backbone, rib cage, shoulder bones etc. Each of the part has its own function like skull protects our brain, backbone provides main support to the body and protects the spinal cord, and rib cage protects our heart and lungs. These bones are connected with each other with the help of joints. The main type of joints found in the human skeleton are hinge joint, ball and socket joint, pivot joint and fixed joint. At the joints, when muscles attached to a bone contracts, it pulls the bone due to which bone moves. So these are the bones, joints and muscles which work together and make it possible for our body to move.
