morning, a group of merchants who had heard about the gold trees were passing
by to collect some gold. The owl on looking at them started hooting. Thinking
that this was a bad omen, the merchants decided to shoot down the owl. But the
owl had fled and taken refuge in a nearby hole. The swan did not move from
itsplace. As a result, the arrow hit the swan and it was killed.
