    In a bag, there are coins of 50 paise, 25 paise and Rs. 1 in the ratio of 5 : 6 : 2. If there are in all Rs.  42, how many 25 paise coins are there?

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    50 paise coins = 5x 25 paise coins = 6x and Rs. 1 coins = 2x According to the questions \[\frac{5}{2}x+\frac{6x}{4}+2x=42\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[\frac{10x+6x+8x}{4}=42\] \[\Rightarrow \]               \[24x=42\times 4\] \[\therefore \,\]                \[x=\frac{42\times 4}{24}=7\] \[\therefore \,\] Number of 25 paise coins \[=6\times \,7\,=42\].
