    Solution :

    \[\because \frac{BE}{CE}=\frac{AB}{AC}\] is an exterior angle bisector Let \[CE=x,\]\[BE=BC+EC=12+x\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[\frac{12+x}{x}=\frac{10}{6}\Rightarrow (12+x)6=10x\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[2+6x=10x\Rightarrow 4x=72\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x=18\,\,cm\]
