    Solution :

    Let the age of mother = x yr and the age of daughter = y yr According to question, \[(x+4)=2(y+4)\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x-2y=4\]                     ?(i) and       \[\,x+y=46\]                  ?(ii) on solving Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get x = 32, y = 14 \[\therefore \]Age of daughter = 14 yr
