    Solution :

    Distance = 2x km. Then, \[\frac{x}{10\frac{1}{2}}+\frac{x}{12}=5\] \[\Rightarrow \,\] \[\frac{2x}{21}+\frac{x}{12}=5\] \[\Rightarrow \,\] \[\frac{8x+7x}{84}=5\] \[\Rightarrow \,\] \[15x=5\times 84\] \[\Rightarrow \,\] \[x=\frac{5\times 84}{15}=28\] \[\therefore \]Distance \[2x=2\times 28=56\,\,km.\]
