    Solution :

     CP of each article     \[=\frac{100}{100+\Pr ofit%}\,\,\,\,S.P.\]     \[=\frac{100}{140}\,\,\,35=\,\,25\] \[\therefore \] SP for a profit of 60%                 \[=160%\]  of  25     \[=\frac{25\,\,\,\,\,\,160}{100}=\] Rs. 40
