  • question_answer
A train 160 m long is running at the speed of 60 Km/hr and another train 160 m long is running at the speed of 45 Km/hr in the same direction how long will the faster train take to pass the first train?

    A)  70 sec

    B)  72 sec

    C)  90 sec

    D)  80 sec

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

     Total distance \[=\text{ }160\text{ }+\text{ }140\text{ }=\text{ }300\]m Since the train are running in the same direction Relative speed \[=60-45\]                         =15 Km/hr \[=15\,\,\,\,\,\frac{5}{18}\]                         \[=\frac{25}{6}\] m/sec.  Total taken to cross  \[=\frac{300}{\frac{25}{6}}=\frac{300\,\,\,\,\,6}{25}=72\] sec
