    A) Rs. 25000

    B) Rs. 30000

    C) Rs. 15000

    D) Rs. 20000

    E) Rs. 24000

    Correct Answer: E

    Solution :

Let the monthly salaries of Pia and Som are 5x and 4x,
Money given by Pia to her mother \[=5x\times \frac{3}{5}=3x\]
Money given by Pia as sister's tuition fees
    = 15% of \[5x=0.75x\]
Money given by Pia towards loan
    = 18% of \[5x=0.90x\]
    Total money spent \[=3x+0.75x+0.90x\]
        \[=3x+1.65x=4.65x\]
    Remaining money left with her
    \[=5x-4.65x=0.35x\]
    Given,   \[0.35x=2100\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x=\frac{2100}{0.35}\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x=Rs.\,6000\]
\[\therefore \] Monthly salary of Som
    \[=4x=4\times 6000=Rs.\,24000\]
