    UPA government passes the Hyderabad-Karnataka Bill on 19 December, 2012 which was pending from the last 40 years. Article 371 is found under Part 21 of the Constitution of India, which constitutes 'temporary, transitional and special provisions.' The Article 371 was introduced to grant special provision with respect to the States of Maharashtra and Gujarat. Later the Article 371 was extended by adding different states under clauses A to I. The Hyderabad-Karnataka region is sought to be added as Article 371 (J).
