A: Anti cyclonic conditions are formed in winter season when atmospheric pressure is high and air temperatures are low.
R: Winter rainfall in Northern India cause development of anti-cyclonic conditions.

    A)  A and R are true and R explains A

    B)  A and R are true but R does not explain A

    C)  A is true but R is false

    D)  A is false but R is true

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

[b] Anticyclone has circular isobars. It is such a wind system which has highest air pressure at the centre and lowest at the outer margins and winds blow from the centre outward in clockwise direction in the northern hemisphere and anticlockwise direction in the southern hemisphere. Thus, anticyclones are high pressure systems and are more common in the subtropical high pressure belts but are practically absent in equatorial regions. They are generally associated with rainless fair weather. Thus they are also called weather less phenomenon
