    [d] Netaji returned to India in 1921 and offered his services to Deshbandhu Chittranjan Das in three fields-first, teaching at National College started by Deshandhu; second, journalism-particularly for the English edition of his newspaper Swaraj; and third, research for the Congress organization. Deshbandhu C.R. Das put Netaji in charge of publicity for the Bengal Provincial Congress and National Volunteer Corps. He also became the Principle of the newly started National College. In 1930, he formed a Congress Democratic Party to promote his militant programme. He became the President of All India Trade Union Congress in 1931. In 1938, at Haripura Congress Session, he was elected its president.
