Bhoodan movement has support of Congress also. It required an individual to donate 1/6 of his land. J. P. Narayan joined the movement in 1953. Sharamdan pogramme of Bhoodan was started in Orissa in 1955 Vinobha Bhave also started the Sarvodaya Samaj.
