    2. Snout of a glacier is its corner end where the amount of ice ablation is equal to supply office. Which of the above statements is/are correct?

    A)  1 only

    B) 2 only

    C) Both 1 and 2

    D)  neither 1 nor 2

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

This upper section is known as the fracture zone and moves mostly as a single unit over the plastically flowing lower section. Although glaciers seem motionless to the observer, in reality glaciers are in endless motion and the glacier terminus (Snout) is always either advancing or retreating. The position of a glacier terminus is also impacted by localized or regional temperature change over time.
