    Since, the interview is for two posts; the man alone can be selected, his wife alone can be selected, also both of them can be selected. There for, the, selection of man and his wife is independent of each other selection. P( man \[\cup \] wife) = P(man) + P(wife)                           - P(man and wife) = P(man) + P(wife) -P(man) x P(wife) \[=\frac{1}{5}+\frac{1}{7}-\frac{1}{35}\]                \[=\frac{11}{35}\]
