The correct decreasing order of nucleophilic aromatic substitution is
    (I) (II)
    (III) (IV)

    A) \[IV>III>II>I\]

    B) \[IV>III>I>II\]

    C) \[III>IV>II>I\]

    D) \[~I>II>III>IV\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

[d] \[I>II>III>IV\] The order of reactivity of halides: \[ArF>>ArCl>ArBr>ArI.\] Although \[{{F}^{\bigcirc -}}\] ion is a poor leaving group due to high EN of F, it stabilises the \[(-ve)\] charge more than other halogens on the neighbouring C-atoms in the transition and intermediate states. The leaving groups are different. More the EN of the leaving group, more is the negative charge stabilized in the intermediate arene anion, and hence faster is the reaction.
