[a] Gandhiji suggested that a Satyagraha to be launched against the Rowlatt Act. A Satyagraha Sabha was formed in 1919. 6th April was fixed as the date on which Satyagraha would be launched. Gandhiji decided to suspend non-violent civil disobedience movement as he felt that the people were not yet fit for it.
