The Convention on Biological Diversity (CDB) is formally known as Biodiversity convention. Its objective is to develop national strategies for the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity. The convention was opened for signature at the Earth summit in Rio de Janeiro on 5th June, 1992. The convention on nuclear safety is a 1994 International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) treaty that governs safety rules at nuclear power plants in state parties to the convention. The convention was adopted in Vienna, Australia, at an IAEA diplomatic conference on 17th June, 1994.
