Answer any four of the following questions:
    (i) What did the first bird say?
(ii) Do you have a pet - a cat or dog? If not, would you like one? How would you look after it? Are you for or against keeping birds in a cage as pets?
(iii) What lesson do you learn from the friendly mongoose story?
(iv) What did the crocodile tell the monkey in the middle of the river?
    (v) What did the physicians ask Saeeda's mother to do to get well? Did their advice help her? If not, Why?

    Answer:

    (i) The first bird cried, "Hurry up! There is someone sitting under the tree. Come and take all his jewels and horse. Hurry or else he will slip away."
(ii) No, I do not have a pet but yes, I would like to have one. I would feed him well. I would take him to the gardens. I would make him run. I would train him and make him learn obedience. He would be as dear to me as my other family members. I am totally against keeping birds in a cage because like us they always want freedom. Freedom is their birth right and we should not deprive them of their right.
(iii) The friendly mongoose story teaches us that we should not act in haste. We should think twice before taking any action.
(iv) When the crocodile with the monkey on his back, reached midstream, he told the monkey of his evil plan of killing him because his wife could not survive without eating his (the monkey's) heart.
    (v) The physicians asked Saeeda's mother not to take normal food and asked her to remain confined to her small dingy room with door and windows closed and she was forbidden to sit in sunshine and fresh air. No it did not help her because a sick person needs sunshine and fresh air more than anything.
