Differentiate between a zoospore and a zygote.
    Or
A haploid organism produces gametes by mitosis. Does that mean meiosis never occur in such organisms? Justify your answer.

    Answer:

Differences between a zoospore and a zygote are as follows
    Zoospore Zygote
A zoospore is a microscopic and motile structure that uses flagella for locomotion. Zygote is a non - motile cell formed by the fusion of male and female gametes.
It is an asexual reproductive structure, It is formed as a result of sexual reproduction.
It is haploid or diploid. It is always diploid.
    Or
In haploid organism, gametes are produced by mitotic division. In such organism, meiosis occurs during the development of zygote. It is the only diploid stage (formed by the fusion of two haploid gametes) in the life cycle of a haploid organism that can undergo meiosis. Thus, meiosis may also occur in such organism.
