     In 1955, West Germany was admitted into NATO. This made the Soviet Union very uncomfortable, therefore in that same year, the Warsaw Pact was set up. It was a military alliance between the Communist countries in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union. It members were made up of the Soviet Union, Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland and Romania. All the members of the Warsaw Pact, agreed to help each other if any of them was attacked by the West.
