  • question_answer
Four angles of a quadrilateral are in the ratio 1 : 2 : 3 : 4. The difference between the greatest and the smallest angle is

    A)  \[\text{125 }\!\!{}^\circ\!\!\text{ }\]

    B)  \[\text{75 }\!\!{}^\circ\!\!\text{ }\]

    C)  \[\text{108 }\!\!{}^\circ\!\!\text{ }\]

    D)         \[\text{120 }\!\!{}^\circ\!\!\text{ }\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    Let the angles be x, 2x, 3x and 4x. Sum of the angles of a quadrilateral \[=360{}^\circ \] \[=x+2x+3x+4x=360{}^\circ \] \[\Rightarrow 10x=360{}^\circ \Rightarrow x=36{}^\circ \] \[\therefore \] Required difference \[=4x-x=3x=3\times 36{}^\circ =108{}^\circ \]
