    Solution :

    [b] Total distance covered = 300 + 500 = 800 km.             Total time taken to cover 800 km \[=\frac{300}{45}+\frac{500}{60}=\frac{20}{3}+\frac{25}{3}=\frac{45}{3}=15\,hr.\] \[\therefore \] \[Average\,\,speed=\frac{800}{15}=\frac{160}{3}=53\frac{1}{3}kmph\]
