(a) This is a nationalist Cartoon. It depicts Vietnamese nationalists chasing away the imperial troops.
(b) The cartoon does not give a true picture of Vietnamese struggle against imperialist. The Vietnamese people had to suffer a lot of reverses and it required tremendous sacrifices of people to chase it imperialists. Most of their revolts were suppressed by the imperialists.
(c) The cartoonist aimed to create self confidence among the people by projecting the nationalists in a positive light, so that they did not lose hope. The image of imperialists facing from the nationalists would encourage the people to continue their right.
