    Solution :

     Christian missionaries did not support religious education. In other words, they wanted the natives to give up on their religious practices and planned to achieve this aim by educating them. They hoped to eradicate rituals such as idol worship, bigotry, polygamy etc. by educating the Indians. These missionaries made regular Bible lessons a norm their schools, to acquaint the people with Christianity and attract them towards it.
