Difference between Village Disaster Management Committee and Disaster Management Team:

VDMC:             Is formed by local elected representatives, grass root level government functionaries and senior citizens. The role of the committee is to guide and decide what to do in a disaster situation.

Disaster Management Team:    It has volunteers from all levels and age groups, who are fit and willing workers. They are trained in basic functional areas that are vital for efficient response during disasters. The DMTs needs to be well trained in First Aid, Rescue and evacuation Trauma Counselling etc.
