     (a) With the rise of Hitler, Germany was turned into a police state. Opposition parties and labour unions were ordered to disband. Opposition parties, newspapers were suppressed and government controlled all radio stations. (b) Liberals, Socialists, and Communists were thrown into large prisons called concentration camps. The Jews were deprived of their rights, publicly humiliated and forced to live in segregated areas. (c) Hitler began to reann and in 1936, he marched into the Rhineland. Lack of action on the part of the Western powers emboldened Hitler and set Germany on the path to war.
