Write three measures to protect wildlife.

The measures taken by the Government for the protection and conservation of our great biological diversity are :

(a) Periodic census is undertaken to find out the latest position and trends in this regard.

(b) 16 Tiger reserves have been set up. Project Tiger is a great success. Rhino in Assam and elephants in Pcriyar etc. are being conserved.

(d) In 1986, Nilgiri Bio-reserve was set up. Altogether there are now 13 such zones. Nanda Devi, Nokrek, Gulf of Mannar are some of the reserves.

(e) Several national parks and bird sanctuaries have been set-up,
