    Let number of boys in the class be x. \[\therefore \] Number of girls in the class \[=42-x\] According to question, \[\frac{3}{4}x+\frac{2}{3}(42-x)=30\]\[\Rightarrow \frac{3}{4}x-\frac{2}{3}x+28=30\Rightarrow \frac{x}{12}=2\Rightarrow x=24\] \[\therefore \] Number of bo0ys in the class =24
