Then,  \[\frac{-7}{8}+x=\frac{4}{9}\,\,\Rightarrow \,\,x=\frac{4}{9}-\left( \frac{-7}{8} \right)\]                 \[=\frac{4}{9}+\frac{7}{8}\] \[\left[ Since-\left( \frac{-7}{8} \right)=\frac{7}{8}. \right]\]                 \[=\frac{(32+63)}{72}=\frac{95}{72}\] Hence, the required number is  \[\frac{95}{72}\] .
