    Solution :

     \[n(S)=40,\]let \[n(C)=C\] \[P(C)=\frac{5}{8}\Rightarrow \frac{C}{40}=\frac{5}{8}\]or \[C=25\] Now, \[\frac{25-x}{40-x}=\frac{1}{2}\Rightarrow x=10\]
