Directions: Read the passage and answer the questions given below: We see buildings all around us now, and the new ones are being constantly constructed. Where has the land come from to build all these buildings? There used to be forests all around where these buildings have been made. Due to increase in needs of increasing population we needed more houses and wood. So we started to cut the trees. The process of cutting down the trees is called deforestation. But while doing this to solve our purpose we destroyed the life of wild animals and tribal people too. It is because of deforestation only that there are some species of animals and birds which are near their extinction. They do not have any shelter and food which they used to get from forests only. Day by day we need more houses and more products from the forests. What is the reason behind this?
