  • question_answer
If the displacement-time graph for the two particles A and B ^ire straight lines inclined at angles of \[30{}^\circ \] and \[60{}^\circ \] with the time axis, then ratio of the velocities \[{{u}_{A}}:{{u}_{B}}\] Up will be

    A)  1:2

    B)  \[1:\sqrt{3}\]

    C)  \[\sqrt{3}:1\]

    D)         1:3

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

The line making greater slope has greater velocity. Hence line making \[{{60}^{o}}\] has greater velocity. \[\therefore \]      \[\frac{{{v}_{A}}}{{{v}_{B}}}=\frac{\tan {{30}^{o}}}{\tan {{60}^{o}}}=\frac{1\sqrt{3}}{\sqrt{3}}=\frac{1}{3}\]
