First bunch of grapes has \[\frac{1}{4}\] as many grapes as a second bunch. If the second bunch has 6 grapes less than the first bunch, then the number of grapes in the first bunch are

    A)  9

    B)  16

    C)  15

    D)  30

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Let there be \[x\]grapes in the second bunch. The number of grapes in the first bunch \[=x+\frac{1}{4}x=\frac{5x}{4}\] A/q \[\frac{5x}{4}-x=6\Rightarrow \frac{x}{4}=6\Rightarrow x=24\] \[\therefore \]  Number of grapes in the first bunch \[=\frac{5}{4}x=30\]
