Why do air bubbles in a liquid move in upward direction?                    

Answer:

                The density of air bubble is less than that of liquid. Initially, the resultant of up thrust and the viscous force is greater than the weight of the air bubble. So, the air bubble experiences a net upward force. Then bubble soon attains a terminal velocity in the upward direction.
