Why are the droplets of mercury when brought in contact pulled together to from a bigger drop? Also state with reason whether the temperature of bigger drop will be the same, or more, or less than the temperature of the smaller drops?

    Answer:

Due to surface tension, liquid drops tend to have minimum surface area. When mercury droplets are brought in contact, they form one drop thereby decreasing the surface area. Due to decrease in surface, surface energy is lost by the bigger drop which appears as heat. So its temperature increases.
