    Answer:

    (a) The two decades when population was rather stable: 1901-1911 and 1911-1921. Population showed decline in 1921 due to world war, famines and lack in medical facilities. (b) The three decades which showed moderate growth rate are: 1931-1941, 1941-1951, 1951-1961. (c) The three decades with very fast growing populations are: 1961-1971, 1971-1981, 1981-1991. The net addition for the 30 years was 407 million. (d) The two decades which had spurts of urban population: 1941-1951, 1971-1981. In 1941-1951, it was due to independence. In 1971-1981, it was due to growth of industries.
