If \[\frac{\mathbf{x-6}}{\mathbf{x-2}}\mathbf{+}\frac{\mathbf{x-3}}{\mathbf{x-8}}\mathbf{=2}\] then the value of x =?

    A)  -22

    B)  11

    C)  11

    D)  22

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    (a): \[\frac{x-6}{x-2}+\frac{x-3}{x-8}=2\] \[\Rightarrow \frac{x-6}{x-2}-1+\frac{x-3}{x-8}-1=0\] \[\Rightarrow \frac{x-6-x+2}{x-2}+\frac{x-3-x+8}{x-8}=0\] \[\Rightarrow \frac{5}{x-8}=\frac{4}{x-2}\] \[=5x-10=4x-32\] \[\Rightarrow x=-22\]
