    Solution :

    Let the number be \[(41\,k+7).\] Now, divide \[(41\,k+7)\] by 40. \[\frac{41k+7}{40}=\frac{40k+k+7}{40}=\frac{k+7}{40}\] Now, substitute the value of k for which \[(k+7)\] will given a remainder of 3, which is\[k=36\]. Therefore, the original number \[=(41k+7)=41\times 36+7=1483.\]
