    (a) Gandhiji realized that the mighty British Empire like any other European imperial power believed in war and armed might and could destroy India easily in war.
    (b) In war and in armed might India could never rival Britain because they would never stand any chance.
    (c) Indians would never use arms because they adopted non-violence as their religion. To them non-violence was a strong moral force which is stronger than the armed might of the European power.
