In a copper voltmeter containing copper sulphate solution, a current of 1 ampere is passed for 1 hours. Taking the E.C.E. of copper as \[0.000\text{329}\] g/coul, the weight of copper deposited is approximately

    A)  \[0.6\] gm

    B)         \[1.2\]gm

    C)  \[0.12\,\,gm\]

    D)         \[0.0\text{329 gm}\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

                    \[m=Z\,\,i\,\,t=3.3\times {{10}^{-4}}\times 1\times 3600\,\,gm\]                     \[=3.3\times 3.6\times {{10}^{-1}}gm\] Since, \[{{\pi }^{2}}=10,\] the product of \[3\cdot 3\] and \[3\cdot 6\] must be a little greater than\[10\]. As per the given options one of the possible values of this product must be\[12\]. So,          \[m=12\times {{10}^{-1}}=1\cdot 2gm\]
