    5. What information do we get from the seals found in the Indus Valley Civilisation?

    Answer:

The seals that have been found in the Indus Valley Civilisation were made of stone or steatite and have motifs of animals on them. Most seals have a short inscription on them. Many seals have been found in Mesopotamia which tells us that trade was carried on with other civilisations. The pictures on the seals are of great importance in determining the religious practices of the people. On one seal, a homed figure is sitting in a yogic I posture, surrounded by animals. This figure is identified as Shiva or Pashupati. On; another seal, there is a figure of a woman with horns standing among the branches of a peepal tree.
