  • question_answer
In a single throw of two dice what is the probability of obtaining a number greater than 7,  if 4 appears on the first dice

    A)                 \[\frac{1}{3}\]

    B)                 \[\frac{1}{2}\]

    C)                 \[\frac{1}{12}\]

    D)                 None of these

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Since 4 has appeared on the first, so we are required 4 or 5 or 6 on second dice.                 Hence required probability \[=\frac{3}{6}=\frac{1}{2}.\]
